A surprise visitor to Ardmore late morning 08 December was Heli Otago's BK117 B2 ZK-IME. Soon after this snap was taken this smart machine lifted out and vacated the area in a southwesterly direction.
ZK-IME was imported to NZ by air during 2008 and arrived at Auckland from Lord Howe Island and Norfolk Island on 04 September 2008 registered VH-EMS. The following day it headed south to Queenstown via fuel stops and later became ZK-IME on 13 October registered to South Helicopters, Queenstown and two months later transferred to Heli-Works, still of Queenstown. At the end of April the next year ZK-IME moved east to operate with Heli Otago joining two other BK117 helicopters in the fleet, ZK-HUP and ZK-HJK.
