A blast from the past and out of the blue.

A Tiger Moth that I never did get to see was ZK-BMH.
Amazingly a photograph of it arrived out of the ether today via Dave Wise.

Dear sirs:In case it may be of interest to you, I am enclosing a photo of Tiger Moth ZK-BMH
with its owner (Brian Telford) on his farm at Waiwera South, during April 1962.


The photo was taken by me with a Rolleiflex camera.
I was working for Brian on his farm, for some time (doing practical training for my
degree in Agriculture, Chile)

Later that year the Tiger Moth was lost due to a fire in Invercargill

This De Havilland DH82A Tiger Moth was built in the Wellington DH factory with the c/n DHNZ157 and became NZ1477 with the RNZAF from 21-12-1943 until struck off charge on 15-08-1955.
It was registered as ZK-BMH to Brian Telford of Waiwera South in Southland shortly after this date.
It was destroyed in a hangar fire at Invercargill on 15-08-1962.
Brian has also operated the Rearwin 9000KR ZK-AKA, thew Auster J/1N, Cessna 180 ZK-BUJ and the Piper Apache ZK-BUA (and probably others).
