Minister for Defence Materiel Jason Clare today visited Haulmark Trailers in Rocklea to congratulate them on winning a $31 million contract to provide 830 trailers to the Australian Army.

Mr Clare was joined by Member for Moreton Graham Perrett.

Last week the Federal Government approved the purchase of 950 G-Wagon 4WD Drive vehicles and 830 trailers.

“The trailers built by Haulmark will increase the carrying capacity of the vehicles,” Mr Clare said.

“This is a great example of how Defence and Australian businesses are working together to deliver the equipment our Defence Force personnel need to do their job.

“It’s also supporting Australian jobs.”

This comes on top of work Haulmark is already doing for the Army. In April last year the Commonwealth signed a contract with Haulmark for the provision of 583 lightweight trailers and 390 light trailers.

Haulmark has provided quality trailers and maintenance to Defence for more than 20 years.

Mr Perrett welcomed the news that Haulmark had won this contract with Defence.
“Haulmark is a terrific local company with a tried and tested product,” Mr Perret said.

“This contract from Defence is good news for the company and for the local community.

“I congratulate Haulmark for their work in winning this contract.”
