Henry M has sent in four more photographs of some of the Taupo locals.
Above is the Piper PA28-140 Cherokee ZK-CNU (c/n 28-22297) currently listed to Werner Gebauer. This was originally imported for the Southern Districts Aero Club of Gore from March 1967.
The enginless Cessna 177B Cardinal ZK-CXM (c/n 177B-01462) also started life in the far south - with the Southland Aero Club from mid 1970. It is still currently listed to Taupo Air Services, although they have been taken over by Izard Air.
A recent arrival in country is the Cessna T182T ZK-RGZ (T18208369) for Huitaha Ltd of Putaruru from 01-04-2011.
A reasonably long time, inactive, resident is this Bell 222 JA9568 (c/n 47074). This was originally N18097 before moving to Japan. It came to NZ and was registered here as ZK-HZD2 on 20-11-2003 for Aircraft Maintenance Taupo Ltd. It was never marked as such, and was cancelled from the register on 17-12-2004 as withdrawn. It has been used as a spare parts department to keep the Taupo based Search & Rescue Services Ltd Bell 222B ZK-HZQ active.
All pics taken on 23-11-2011.
