The Position: To perform as part of a team as directed by the Foreman / Sr Machinist all scheduled maintenance /servicing /repair /rebuilding /fault finding on all DNATA/EK and other airlines/companies' ground support equipment. Perform machining works in the machine shop as assigned by the Foreman.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES: Perform scheduled maintenance, servicing, overhaul and all other repair/rebuild works on the Ground Support equipment in order to ensure the serviceability of the equipment. Carry out repairs and rebuilding of all breakdown equipment without any time delay in order to minimise downtime of equipment. Check all equipment being worked on and report any other faults, damages to the Foreman/Supervisor in order to plan for any predictive works. Follow the general workshop safety procedures in order to prevent and personal injury or equipment damage during the maintenance works. Record in the logbook all maintenance/rebuild works carried out by the jobholder in order to inform the Foreman/Supervisor and Workshop Foreman of the maintenance progress. Inform the Foreman/Supervisor of any spare parts/tools that are required in order that the materials can be ordered and are available for maintenance /rebuild /installation/work. Assist the Foreman/Supervisor in examining all safety functions of the equipment used to ensure that they are functioning correctly in order to help prevent any accident occurring in the workshop. Carry out on job training where required in order to maximise the skills and abilities of the team.

The Position:
Based at Rio de Janeiro International Airport,you will carry out maintenance and certification of aircraft (including cabin maintenance) to ensure best possible standards for all systems and passenger amenities. You will liaise with the Head Office and other concerned parties in the event of defects affecting the dispatch of the aircraft and will supervise mechanics, technicians and all aspects of servicing, defect rectification and maintenance carried out on the aircraft. In addition you will be responsible for taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of personnel working in the vicinity of the aircraft and to prevent damage to the aircraft and/or it?s equipment. Assisting with the administration of the station including: materials handling, equipment servicing, reporting processes, rostering and other associated duties will also be part of the role.

Experience and Qualifications:
You will have a minimum of 10 years aviation experience of which at least 7 years as a certifying Engineer with supervisory experience. You will have completed approved training that resulted in the issuance of an EASA 66 B1 or ICAO Type 2 license. You must have thorough technical skills and knowledge of aircraft systems and safety practices. You should hold B777-200LR/300ER with GE90 engine approvalsand have been trained to EASA 147 or level 3 standards will your application be considered. Other types of a/c operated by Emirates would be an advantage. You will be computer literate and a good standard of proficiency with office applications. The ability to communicate effectively at all levels in English and Brazilian Portuguese is also required.

    Responsible for conducting performance reviews for staff under their direct control through the application of the Performance Matters System.
    Deficiencies or inability to meet objectives/competencies must be highlighted during interim reviews conducted and an agreed course of action implemented to improve/correct any issues identified.
    Each to be effective in guiding/coaching/counselling junior staff assigned to their team, including National Trainees, ensuring action and development plans are in place to address any areas of concern.
