It was cancelled on 07-01-1982 when it went to Australia on lease to Lloyd-Bass Strait Helicopters Pty Ltd of Wayville, South Australia with whom it became VH-BQH. This lease ended in May of 1983 and the big 212 returned to H/C NZ Ltd on 20-05-83.
In its time it has been involved in a couple of incidents; first on 14-11-93 just offshore from Cape Egmont; and then on 22-10-97 during autorotation training at Oaonui.
It spent some time with Southern Lakes Helicopters and has taken part in at least ten summer season trips to Antarctica.

It was noted cocooned for transport at Ardmore in mid September and has been exported to Canada, being cancelled from our register on 22-09-2009.
It has been replaced with a Eurocopter EC 130 B4 which came from Canada and arrived at Tauranga and flown to Nelson on 07-10-09 as ZK-HNF2.
