Another fabulous day on Tuesday 09-08-2011. A visitation to the Mueller hut thanks to the Aerospatiale AS350 BA Ecureuil ZK-HGO2 (c/n 2182). A flight of about four minutes from the Mt Cook airfield. Above we have HGO approaching to take the team back down, with Mount Cook in the background.
Below, back on the trolley at Mt Cook with Rotten Tommy in the background.
A 1989 model, imported from Japan to become ZK-HGO on 18-08-1992 for Heliquip International Ltd of Nelson for delivery to Fox Glacier Helicopters from 07-10-1992. It was damaged after a skid snagged on Fox Glacier on 13-11-1993. It then returned to Heliquip International and was registered to them on 29-09-1997 following a rebuild. It was upgraded to a BA model and moved to Southern Lakes Helicopters on 11-06-1999. It transferred to Heli-Works Queenstown Helicopters Ltd (markings it still carries) on 31-05-2002 and then back to Souther Lakes Helicopters from 02-11-2010. It is currently Mt Cook based doing the Aoraki Mount Cook Skiplanes stint.
