Jat’s dash for passengers

Another Jat promotion as Belgrade Airport reports decline in passanger numbers
Jat has launched yet another promotional campaign in hope to attract passengers. In January the Serbian national carrier held a 3 day reduced regional ticket sale. The company released a statement last Thursday, saying that from February 16 to 22, Jat will put on sale a total of 20.000 tickets for flights towards Balkan and Euro-Mediterranean destinations, at a promotional price. For example a ticket from Belgrade to Skopje costs 39 Euros (with the usual catch of no taxes included). The tickets bought within this period will be valid in the next 12 months, provided the departure takes place between March 1 and 31, 2009 and the stay is no shorter than three days. The price for flights to Skopje, Thessaloniki, Podgorica, Tivat, Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Trieste and Ljubljana is set at 39 Euros, whereas the promotional fare for the Euro-Mediterranean zone round ticket is 59 Euros.

This campaign aims to help the company attract passenger during the global economic crisis which has had a great impact on the aviation industry. Jat has not posted its January 2009 results, most probably due to a fall in passenger numbers. Its hub airport, Belgrade, reported 148.949 passenger this January, 19.406 passengers less than in January 2008.
